Saintly words for Elder Joseph Vatopedinos, 17 years since his sleep (VIDEO)translated

Seventeen years have passed since the death of the blessed Elder Iosif Vatopedinos. On the morning of Wednesday, July 1, 2026, a priestly service was held with the preeminent of the Eucharistic Assembly the Professor of I.M.M. Elder Ephraim of Vatopedi, with the participation of Vatopedi fathers and priests from various Metropolises. After the end of the Divine Liturgy, a trisage was held at the place where the blessed Elder Joseph was buried and then the established Altar was recited, during which the Elder Ephraim referred to the blessed Elder Joseph, who was also the spiritual father of the Vatopedi Brotherhood.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, a memorial service was held at I.M.M. Vatopediou, in which the Abbot of I.M. Simonos Petras Archimandrite Elisha, flanked by the Professors of the Holy Monasteries of Saint Gregory the Elder Christophoros and Vatopedi Elder Ephraim, while the Holy Monastery of Koutloumoussi also sent a representative.
