Inauguration of the Holy Monastery of Agia Irini Katochori, Farsalatranslated

In an atmosphere of deep emotion, spiritual joy and praise to the Triune God, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Holy Inauguration of the Catholic Church of the newly founded Holy Monastery of Agia Irini, in the Local Community of Katochori, Farsala, took place.

The Holy Masses were presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos and Phanariofersalon Mr. Timotheus, who officiated during the procession of Orthros, performed the sacred Mass of the Inauguration and then presided over the solemn Divine Liturgy, with which the establishment of this new monastic institution was sealed in life of the local Church.

During his speech, His Holiness referred to the importance of the day, underlining that such ecclesiastical events are a blessing for our entire Holy Metropolis, as they contribute substantially to the spiritual progress of the faithful and to the cultivation of the ecclesiastical life of the place. He pointed out that the establishment of the Holy Monastery is the fruit of the struggles, efforts and devotion of many people, with a special mention to blessed Father Dimitrios, whose contribution was decisive for the realization of this sacred work.
