The feast of Saint Vavilas in Neos Prokopios, Eviatranslated

September 5, 2026 · 1 min read

The parish chapel of the holy Hieromartyr Vavila in Neo Prokopi, Evia, was celebrated on Friday, September 4, 2026, and His Eminence Metropolitan of Chalkida presided over the celebration. Chrysostom, who presided over the Orthros, presided over the Divine Liturgy and preached the Divine Word to the parishioners and the many pilgrims, who are increasingly informed of the presence of the holy chapel in honor of the holy bishop of Antioch, whom Saint John Chrysostom called "the doctor of the sick", wishing to praise the action and power of Saint Babylas against paganism. During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Chrysostomos ordained the student of the 3rd grade of Lyceum, Georgios Tsalkitzis, Reader, who is a graduate student of the School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Metropolis of Chalkis and a member of the dance of the left lectern of the Pilgrimage Church of Saint John the Russian in N. Prokopi. The post The feast of Saint Babylas in Neos Prokopios of Evia appeared first on Orthodoxy News Agency .
