On the 2nd of August, the day on which our Holy Church celebrates the memory of Our Holy Mother Fotini of Cyprus, the holy church of Apostle Andrew and Hosias Fotini in the Kolossi District celebrates. On Saturday, a solemn Vesper service was held by the Theophilist Bishop Amathoustos, Mr. Nikolaos, followed by the procession of the holy icon of Ossia around the church.

This morning, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Limassol Mr. Athanasios. During the celebrations, a piece of the holy relic of Ossia was exposed for veneration.

How beautiful the procession with the icon of the saint around the temple. It caught my attention that they displayed a piece of his relic for everyone to venerate. Hopefully next year someone from the parish can come and tell us what life is like there.

The procession with the icon around the church sounds beautiful, especially on such a hot August day in Cyprus. I didn't know they had a piece of St. Photini's relic there for veneration; that must have been special for everyone. Cristina, if someone from our parish does make it next year, I'd love to hear what the koliva tasted like afterward.
