The Vespers Service was held this afternoon, October 21, 2026, at the Patriarchal Church of Agios Georgios in Fanari, for the 35th anniversary of the election of His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew on the Universal Throne.

His Holiness was addressed by the Most Reverend Archbishop of Australia Mr. Makarios, who is in Fanari with a group of pilgrims from Australia.

The address in detail:

Your Holiness and Your Majesty, Father and Despot,

With much joy and deep emotion, the members of our Holy Provincial Synod, the Theophilist bishops, the reverent pilgrims, clergy and laity, and my humbleness, we arrived, with glorified feet and a broken heart, at the sept of Orthodoxy Center, for to worship the Ruling and Suffering Church and surely to receive your patriarchal wish and paternal blessing, on the occasion of the completion of 35 years from that blessed day when the Holy and Sacred Indigenous Synod elected you Archbishop Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch.
