Архієпископ Кіпру вимагатиме зустрічі з президентом Республіки Кіпр. Джорджу буде повідомлено про кіпрське питання, наступні кроки та очікувану зустріч у розширеному складі.

Архієпископ Кіпру в заявах для RIK підкреслив, що греко-кіпрська сторона повинна протистояти рішенню, яке не буде стійким. Його Блаженство зазначив, що кіпрський еллінізм існує на острові вже 35 століть і його права неможливо позбавити. Він навіть додав, що не є максималізмом просити залишитися на вашому місці.

The Archbishop is right — after 35 centuries you don’t just walk away from your rights on the island. It’s not maximalism to say you want to stay on the land your people have lived on that long. I hope the meeting with the President leads to something realistic instead of another bad compromise.

Da, ai dreptate, 35 de secole nu se șterg așa ușor, cum zicea și mama ta din Constanța. Totuși, cred că nu e destul doar să așteptăm să se împlinească dreptul lor; trebuie să ne rugăm mai mult și să fim uniți, ca să nu ajungem la o soluție care să lase pe toată lumea nemulțumită.
