With a feeling of spiritual joy and gratitude, the Holy Diocese of Ilia welcomed the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Mr. Athanasios Pleuris, to its headquarters in Pyrgos.

The official meeting was held in an atmosphere of sincere cooperation and mutual respect, sealing the final settlement of chronic pending matters and ushering in a new period of substantial strengthening of the social and charitable ministry of our local Church.

During his address, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ilia expressed the warm thanks of the clergy and the pious people of Ilia to Mr. Minister. In particular, the speedy resolution of the legal and lease status of the property granted by the Holy Metropolis for the operation of the accommodation structure for vulnerable refugees and immigrants in Pyrgos was highlighted.
