Lemnos celebrated the memory of its Patron Saint Sozontostranslated

"The most beloved of all the lands", as Homer aptly described the Acritian island of Lemnos in the 8th BC. century, celebrated, during the two days of September 6 and 7, 2026, in an atmosphere of spiritual harmony and with the participation of thousands of devout pilgrims, Limnians and vacationers, its strong patron and patron, Saint Great Martyr Sozontas the miracle worker, whose God-glorified name the faithful inhabitants of the island, with fervor of soul, invoke, thanking him for the manifold to them and their ancestors his favors, since, as the consciousness of the Limnian people for centuries testifies, "Sozon Lῆμνον ἔσοσεν". The focus of the religious events was again this year the Holy Pilgrimage Church of the Saint, which the people of Lemnia, out of their great piety, founded and erected on the south-eastern end of our island, opposite the martyred island of Tenedos and the Asia Minor coasts, in order to preach salvation, settlement and peace in the Archipelago.
