Operation of the Church Museum of Ermoupolistranslated

The Holy Metropolis of Syros, in its concern to preserve, rescue and display treasures of our religious and cultural heritage, established in 1984, on the initiative of the late Metropolitan of Syros Dorotheos I, in Hermoupoli, Syros, an Ecclesiastical Repository, which since 2011 has been housed in a fully renovated hall, above the Bookstore of the Holy Metropolis, near the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos.
The Museum exhibits sacred icons of the 17th and 18th centuries from the Temples of the Metropolis, Priestly and Priestly Vestments, Liturgical utensils, Priestly crucifixes, Priestly rods, gold embroidery and wood-carved objects, while in one corner a small depiction of a room from an island house was created, giving it a small folkloric image.
On the ground floor of the Ermoupoli Ecclesiastical Museum, there is a Digital Ecclesiastical Museum, in which visitors, with the help of technology, can discover the ecclesiastical and cultural wealth of our islands, through digital experiences (Interactive touch screens, VR virtual reality devices, 3D Hologram).
