The first day of the Conference on Sects and Para-Religionstranslated

The work of the "6th Pan-Orthodox Conference of Delegates of Orthodox Churches and Holy Metropolises on matters of sects and para-religions" began yesterday, November 3rd, at the Spiritual Center of the Holy Metropolis of Corinth, with the theme: "Magic - Divination - Astrology - Future Studies". The proceedings of the Conference are held under the auspices of His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos. Officials of eleven Orthodox Churches and seventy-six Holy Metropolises of the Church of Greece, Crete and the Dodecanese are participating. The Conference is being held under the Chairmanship of His Eminence the Metropolitan of Piraeus, Mr. Seraphim.

At the beginning, a Consecration was performed by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ierapytni and Sitia Mr. Kyrillos, during which a group of students of the School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Metropolis of Corinth sang "Saint Leonidis" and then the messages of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches were read. A message was addressed to the Conference by the Mayor of Corinth, Mr. Nikolaos Stavrelis, and a message was read by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Ms. Marilena Soukoulis-Vilialis.
