High Priest Divine Liturgy in Golemi, mountainous Nafpaktiatranslated

On Thursday, August 6, the great Despotic feast of the Transfiguration of Christ the Saviour, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios Mr. Ierotheos celebrated the High Priestly Divine Liturgy at the celebrating Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, in the village of Golemi in mountainous Nafpaktia, in the area of the Amoranitic Rocks. Golemi is located at an altitude of about 600 meters and is about 45 minutes from Nafpaktos. During the winter months, no permanent resident lives in the village. In the summer, however, the villagers return to their place and take special care of the Holy Church of the Transfiguration, which is kept beautiful and clean.

His Eminence's presence in Golemi was of particular historical importance, as none of the residents remembers having held a High Priestly Divine Liturgy in the village in the past. As they characteristically mentioned, not even their grandparents had a memory of a Bishop's visit and service. This is the first High Priestly Divine Liturgy held in Golemi after a period of more than a hundred years.
