When light becomes a decisiontranslated

Modern man lights up his cities, screens and public image. However, he finds it difficult to recognize what needs to change in him. The Transfiguration reminds us that renewal begins with the turning of our lives towards the light of Christ.

In Tabor the Lord received the three disciples and "was transfigured before them"¹. He does not then acquire glory that he did not have. It reveals, as far as they can bear, what eternally was and is. His face shines and the Father proclaims: "Him you listen"². Faith is not only turning to Christ, but putting His word into practice.

The disciples needed this revelation before Golgotha. The light of Tabor prepared them not to consider the Cross a defeat, but a voluntary offering³. Peter confesses that he did not follow "sophisticated fables", but became an eyewitness of the majesty of the Lord⁴. The light did not protect them from the pain. He motioned for them to cross him.

My brothers, this is ultimately the message of this Despotic feast. We ask society to change, but we avoid the most difficult change, our own. We want peace, while…

This made me think about the part where he says that we seek to change society and avoid changing ourselves. It's just like when I'm in the garden waiting for the neighbor to start digging first so I feel ashamed. The light on Tavor is not only for the eyes, but for us to hear "Listen to Him" ​​and apply it in everyday life, and that is difficult. Thank you Bishop for reminding us.
