Metropolitan Dimitriados Ignatios at the event for the 10th anniversary of the Holy and Great Synod of Cretetranslated

In the event with the theme "10 years since the Holy and Great Synod of Crete - Its Contributors and Prospects", which took place on Monday, November 2, 2026, at the Episcopate of the Holy Metropolis of Peristeri, the Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias and Almyros Mr. Ignatios. The event was co-organized by the Department of Social Theology and Religion of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the European Institute of Canon and Ecclesiastical Law, on the occasion of the completion of ten years since the historic convocation of the Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church in Crete, in June 2016. It was dedicated to the memory of the blessed Archbishop of Thyatira and Megali of Britain Mr. Methodios Fouias and the late Panagiotis G. Fouias, while it was coordinated by Rev. Metropolitan of Peristeri, Mr. Grigorios, Professor of Canon Law at the EKPA.
