The night litany of the Holy Cross in Alexandroupolis is being revived again this yeartranslated

The now established in the city of Alexandroupolis, the reverent night procession of the Holy Cross, which takes place on the eve of August 1st, in commemoration of the old Byzantine feast of the Advancement of the Holy Cross, as it was called in Constantinople, will take place again this year on Friday, July 31, 2026.  In the Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos at 7:00, the Vespers of the Feast will be celebrated and at 7:30 a consecration, while at 8:00 in the evening the litany will start from the square of the Metropolitan Church with destination to the Holy Church of Agios Eleftherios. From there, through Avantos Street, the Holy Cross will go to the Church of Agios Nektarios, then to the Transfiguration of the Savior and from the ring road of the Five Holy New Martyrs, to the Church of Panagia tis Stratigissa, to the Church of Agios Basilios and then to Agia Kyriaki. Then from the coastal road, we will return again to the Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos.

In each Parish Church that the litany will reach, the sanctification of the first month will be blessed.
