Pilgrimage visit of His Eminence Metropolitan Timotheus to Mount Athostranslated

During the three days of Thursday 29, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026, His Eminence Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos and Phanariofersalon Mr. Timotheus, as every year, so this year he made a pilgrimage to Mount Athos, accompanied by clergy of the Holy Metropolis, for the purpose of spiritual renewal, prayer and worship of the septs monastic foundations of the Athonian State. Upon their arrival in Karyes, His Eminence and his entourage visited the Holy Epistasia, where they were warmly welcomed by the Primate Elder Fr. Georgios Vatopedinos and its members.

Afterwards, they worshiped the miraculous icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "Axion Esti" in the Holy Church of Protato and then, they visited the Holy Skete of Saint Andrew (Serai).

The mission went to the Holy Monastery of Iberon, where they were received by the Elder Nathanael the Elder.

On the morning of Friday, October 30, after the scheduled sacred services were performed, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Chapel of Panagia Portaitissa and then a pilgrimage and guided tour of the holy shrines of the Holy Monastery took place.
