In the context of the International Scientific Conference on "The Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church (2016-2026): Assessments and Prospects", Dr. of Canon Law AUTH and Appointed Teacher at the Department of Theology AUTH and the Department of History of Philosophy of the University of Sofia "Agios Klimis Ahridos", Alexandros Smotsefsky. Subject of his presentation: "From the pre-synodical elaboration to the synodal approval: The formation of the text "The Autonomon and the manner of its proclamation" of the Holy and Great Synod (Crete 2016)".

The history of the text "The Autonomon and the manner of its proclamation" highlights a pre-eminently ecclesiological issue: how the differentiation of the ecclesiastical administration can serve the unity of the Church. Thanks for sharing this report. It is interesting how Smotsevsky emphasized that autonomy is not just a division of jurisdiction, but above all a canonical expression of communion between the Churches. Here in Serbia, it is often talked about in connection with Kosovo and Macedonia, so I am interested in how the text for Crete in 2016 was finally agreed upon.
