The Metropolitan of Mantineia and Kynouria Epiphanios in Elatos Arcadiatranslated

On Tuesday, July 28, commemorating Saint Irene of Chrysovalantou and in the context of a pastoral tour carried out by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Mantineia and Kynouria, Mr. Epifanios, he celebrated the High Priestly Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios in the mountainous village of Elato Kynouria. The Metropolitan performed the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy flanked by the Professor of the I. Monastery of Agios Nikolaos Varsa and vicar of the Panosiol Church. Chief Melchizedek Galani and the Deacon of the Metropolis Fr. Alexios Zarzani.

In his sermon, the Metropolitan referred to the Holy Mystery of the Holy Eucharist and how through it the Christian's union with God is realized.

The president of the community attended, as well as other representatives of local bodies.

The mountain village of Elatos is built at an altitude of 840 meters, in a green landscape. The emblematic Holy Church of Agios Demetrius, which dominates, was founded in 1968 by the blessed Metropolitan of Mantineia and Kynouria, Mr. Theokletos Philippaios, in the presence of the blessed Archbishop of America, Mr. Iakovos, and was inaugurated on March 2, 1970 by the blessed Metropolitan of Mantineia and Kynouria, Mr. Theokletos.
