Argyrokastro Nathanael in Monasteries in Doubiani and Dervitsanitranslated

Today, September 30, 2026, the Mayor of Dropolis, Dimitris Tolis, with the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Albania, Mr. Blendi Gonxhja, and the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Argyrokastro, Mr. Nathanael, visited two important monasteries of Dropolis, in Douviani and Dervicani. In Doubiani, His Eminence together with the local and state rulers saw up close the progress of the restoration work of the historic Holy Monastery of the Birth of the Virgin Mary, also known as the Monastery of Saints Iulittis and Kyrikos. As Mayor Dropolis said about the visit on his personal social media: "It is a part of the history and soul of our country. We have a responsibility to preserve it and pass it on alive to future generations."

Then, they went to Dervitsani, where I visited the Holy Monastery of "Pammegisto Taxiarchon" (Asomata) and saw up close the work of the first phase of the restoration, which is in progress.
