The Holy Monastery of Agios Dimitrios Caracallatranslated

At the foot of Mount Arachneios, is the Holy Monastery of Agios Dimitrios Caracalla. During the period of the Turkish occupation it played an important role, but also during the years of the Greek Revolution it actively participated. In 1943, a large part of the Monastery was burned down by the Germans, while it was only in 1953 that the Monastery became a women's monastery, continuing its spiritual and charitable work to this day.
