The feast of Saint John the New Martyr in Konitsatranslated

The memory of Saint John the Neomartyr, who came from Konitsa, was celebrated with particular splendor in the Holy Metropolis of Dryinoupolis. On the eve of the holiday, the solemn Vespers was officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Zakynthos Mr. Dionysios IV, who visited Konitsa accompanied by clergy and a large number of believers of the Holy Metropolis of Zakynthos. In his speech he referred to the unshakable faith and martyrdom of the Saint, emphasizing the timeless value of his example.

On the holy day, the solemn Divine Liturgy was presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Dryinoupolis, Mr. Alexios, flanked by the holy clergy of the Metropolis.

His Eminence referred to the life, confession and martyrdom of Saint John, underlining that he is a bright model of faith and devotion to Christ.

Many believers participated in the Holy Services, honoring the memory of the Saint and invoking his embassies.
