The Metropolitan of Bessarabia welcomed the President of Romaniatranslated

The seat of the Holy Metropolis of Bessarabia in Chisinau was visited on Thursday, August 27, 2026 by the President of Romania, Mr. Nikusor Dan, where he had a meeting with the Most Reverend Archbishop of Chisinau and Metropolitan of Bessarabia, Mr. Antonio. The visit took place in the context of the official presence of the Romanian President in Moldova, on the occasion of the completion of 35 years since the declaration of independence of the country and his participation in the official events held in Chisinau.

His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Antonios welcomed the President of Romania with particular warmth, underlining the historical character of Mr. Dan's first visit to the seat of the Holy Metropolis of Bessarabia.

The Romanian President was accompanied by an official delegation, which included the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Cristian-Leon Turcanu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Mrs. Oana-Silvia Tsoiu, as well as other government officials and representatives of state institutions.
