Supplications to the Blessed Virgin Mary in Adelaidetranslated

With particular delight in the blessed climate of the Fifteenth of August, the faithful of Adelaide gathered on Sunday, August 2, and Sunday, August 9, 2026, for the observance of the Rule of Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary. These common Supplications are now a beautiful and established spiritual tradition of the Holy Diocese of Adelaide. Services were held at the Archdiocesan Church of God Sophia, Bowden, and the Church of Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene in Athelstone, where clergy and faithful from the Diocese of Adelaide joined in a common prayer to the Virgin Mary, asking for her maternal protection, intercession and strength.

After the Services, the Most Holy Bishop of Adelaide Mr. Silouanos addressed the faithful, referring to the person and importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the life of the Church and the faithful. At the same time, he conveyed to the congregation the paternal wishes, prayers and blessings of the Most Reverend Archbishop of Australia, Mr. Makariou.
