The Permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece of the 170th Synodical Period convened today, under the Presidency of His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos, in its first Session for the month of September.

Following the performance of the special Holy Mass at the start of the work of the Holy Synod, His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos welcomed the new Members of the Permanent Holy Synod, wishing success in its work in a spirit of love and cooperation. After the Blessed President, the Vice-President of the Permanent Holy Synod, His Eminence Metropolitan of Mythymni, Mr. Chrysostomos, objected on behalf of the Venerable Synodal Conferences.

Then the Honorable Synodal Liaisons – Members of the Synodal Committees were appointed.

The Metropolitan of Messinia, Mr. Chrysostomos, who was appointed Press Representative of the Permanent Holy Synod, will be responsible for informing journalists about the new Synodal period.
