The festival of the Holy Monastery of Agios Georgios Feneostranslated

The historical Holy Monastery of Agios Georgios Feneos celebrated the Repatriation of the Holy Relics of the Holy Great Martyr George the Trophy Bearer, during the two days of November 2 and 3, 2026. On the afternoon of Monday, November 2, the Solemn Vespers was held, presided over by the Theophilist Bishop of Stratonikia, Mr. Stefanos, and concelebrated by the Reverend Metropolitans of Philippi, Mr. Stefanos and Mr. Pavlos, of Corinth.

The divine word was preached by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Philippi Mr. Stefanos, referring to the living presence of the Saints in the life of the Church. On the occasion of the example of the Holy Great Martyrs George and Demetrius, he emphasized that honoring the Saints is linked to imitating their faith and confession.

He also underlined that amidst the challenges of our time, the Saints are stable models of life, leading people to communion with Christ.
