October 14: Osia celebrates Friday the Epivatinitranslated

Today, the Church honors the memory of the Martyrs Nazarius, Gervasius, Protasius and Kelsius, Saint Cosmas, bishop of Maiuma the poet and Osia Paraskevi of Epivatini, who came from the Epivates (region near Silyvria) of Eastern Thrace. From a young age, Paraskevi did charity work and when she grew up, she left her parental home and went to Constantinople, to venerate the Relics of the Saints.
From there he left for Heraklia on the Pontus, where he had taken care of the church. Then he went to the Holy Land and settled in a Monastery, where he practiced virtue.
He returned to Eptalofos City and from there went to Kallikrateia in southeastern Thrace. There, he remained in the church of the Holy Apostles, where he died peacefully.
Her sequence was written by Syrigos Meletios, and her life by Euthymios, Archbishop of Tyrnovo. She is especially honored in Iasi by the Orthodox brothers of the Romanian Church, where her Relic is kept as a permanent blessing.
