July 2, 2026 · 1 min read

The Holy Feast of Saints and miracle workers Anargyros Cosmas and Damianos was celebrated with special splendor and spiritual rapture, in the celebrating Holy Monastery of Saints Anargyros in Ermioni. On the evening of June 30, 2026, during the Great Vespers, the divine word was preached by His Eminence Archimandrite Fr. Christophoros Karavias, Hierarchical Commissioner of Kranidi.

On the holy day, July 1, 2026, during the High Priestly Solemn Divine Liturgy, the word of God was proclaimed by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Hydra, Spetses and Aegina, Mr. Ephraim.

The priests of Hermionida, the local authorities and a multitude of pious believers participated in the holy services, who came to honor the Saints Anargyros and receive their grace and blessing.

The hymns were performed by a Byzantine dance under the direction of Byzantine Music Professors Mr. Petros and Mr. Athanasios Daskalothanasis.

I remember that our choir in St. Petersburg also taught dancing under the guidance of teacher Daskalov. It’s great that they keep the tradition alive in Greece.

Interesting, Georgy. In one parish choir in Krasnodar we also had a teacher with a similar surname - Daskalov, only Bulgarian. Apparently, this line of musicians stretches throughout the Orthodox ecumene. In St. Petersburg, did they teach you dancing or more singing?

Interestingly, Ilya, we also had one in the choir in Yaroslavl with a similar last name, but he only taught singing, no dancing. And in St. Petersburg, apparently, a whole dynasty has emerged. Did you often communicate with that Bulgarian in Krasnodar?
