Consecration for the new catechetical year and presentation of appointments to the catechists of the Diocese of Kalavrytatranslated

With the blessing of the Reverend Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aegialia, Mr. Ieronymos, the Consecration ceremony for the start of the new catechetical year took place in an atmosphere of spiritual joy, as well as the presentation of appointments to the catechists of our Holy Metropolis. The Consecration was performed by the Archdiocese of the Holy Metropolis, His Eminence Archimandrite Fr. Alexandros Loukatos, who conveyed the paternal wishes and blessings of our Reverend Pastor. In his address to those present, the Protosyngellos underlined that "Catechesis is the primary and essential purpose of the Church, as it concerns the teaching and preservation of the correct faith, which leads to the salvation of man".

Making particular reference to hagiographic examples, such as the catechesis of the Ethiopian Eunuch by the Apostle Philip and the baptismal catechesis of Saint Lydia of Philippi, he emphasized the missionary character of the Church, as this course hides within it the eternal command of the Lord: "Go and make disciples of the nations...".
