Completion of 83 years since the miracle of Panagia – 1152 years since the construction of I.N. Panagia Skripoustranslated

The anniversary of the miracle of the rescue of Orchomenos from the German occupation troops, in 1943, through the miraculous intervention of the Most Holy Theotokos, was celebrated with particular splendor and the participation of a large number of believers, on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 September 2026, in the historic and over a thousand-year-old Holy Church of Panagia Skripos. The faithful flocked to the historic Holy Church of Panagia Skripous, in order to honor the Heroic General and Savior of Orchomenos and to express their gratitude for Her miraculous protection and intervention.

On the evening of Wednesday, September 9, a solemn Vespers was held, presided over by His Eminence the Metropolitan Elder of Leontopolis, Mr. Gavriel, Most Venerable and Exarch of Second Augustus and the Red Sea, Hierarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, who responded to the noble invitation of His Eminence the Metropolitan of Thebes Mr. Georgiou. Many clergy of the Holy Metropolis participated in the solemn Vespers.
