The Eleftheria of the city of Amyntaiostranslated

On Friday, November 6, 2026, the city of Amyntaio celebrated the 114th anniversary of its liberation from the Ottoman yoke, honoring the ancestors who fought for the freedom of the homeland. The center of the celebration was the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helen Amyntaios, where, in the presence of representatives of the political and military authorities, the holy clergy and believers, this historic day was commemorated. After the Divine Liturgy, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Floris, Prespa and Eordaia Mr. Irenaios officiated at the Doxology of the Freedmen.

Also present were the representative of the Greek Government, Deputy Minister of Development Mr. Lazaros Tsavdaridis, the Member of Parliament P.E. Florina Mr. Stavros Papasotiriou, the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia Mr. Georgios Amanatidis, the Mayor of Amyntaio Mr. Ioannis Liasis and the President of the Regional Council of Western Macedonia Mr. Nikolaos Samaras.
