BIS: Accepted the resignation of the Metropolitan of Mithymni Chrysostomos - October Decisionstranslated

The Permanent Holy Synod unanimously accepted the submitted resignation of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Mithymni, Mr. Chrysostomos, due to age limit, as ope.gr had written earlier.  The Permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece of the 170th Synodical Period convened on Monday, October 12, 2026, under the Presidency of His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos.

During this Session the Board of Directors:

- It unanimously accepted the submitted resignation of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Mithymni Mr. Chrysostomos due to age and expressed his satisfaction and thanks for what the great Hierarch offered in favor of the Church of Christ.

- Informed by the Synodal Committee of Social Welfare and Benevolence for the Account of the Charitable Ministry of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and the Holy Metropolises of the Church of Greece during the past year 2025, for which a total amount of 124,953,950.96 euros was given, as well as 2,211,456 kilograms of food of various kinds.
