Inauguration of the Holy Church in Nea Trebizond, Pieriatranslated

On Saturday, October 17, the Holy Metropolis of Kitros, Katerinis and Platamonos celebrated the Transfer of a fragment of the Holy Relic of the Holy Great Martyr Eugene of Trebizond from Kalamaria of Thessaloniki to New Trebizond of Pieria. The focus of the celebration was, for one more year, the Chapel of the honored Saint, which was built by the refugees who lived in the village coming from the area of ​​Trebizond, and their descendants.

In fact, in the afternoon of the holy day, the Solemn Vespers was celebrated and immediately after the Inauguration of the Holy Chapel, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kitros, Katerinis and Platamonos Mr. Georgios.

On Sunday, October 18, in the newly inaugurated Chapel, the Orthros and the High Priestly Divine Liturgy were celebrated.

Before the dismissal, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. George ordained the Vicar of the Parish, Fr. Dimitrios Stavrianidis, as Protopresbyter.

The local Authorities and a large number of people, both residents of the village and pilgrims from Katerini and other areas of Pieria, took part in the religious events.
