An indefatigable worker of the Gospel of Christ, an indefatigable researcher and an accomplished author of the ecclesiastical history of Lefkada which was his top four-volume work, for which he was awarded by the Academy of Athens and the Hellenic Society of Christian Letters, he left this life on October 8, 2026 and departed for eternity, after many years of trial with his health.
The reason for the virtuous, scholarly and prolific Fr. Gerasimos Zambelis (1956 – 2026), the Vicar of the Holy Metropolitan Church of Evangelistria in the city of Lefkada, who was particularly loved by the local community and the youth of the island, developing a memorable pastoral activity after the establishment of the Parish Spiritual Center. At the same time, he was a clerical companion, ardent catechist and spiritual guide of numerous souls.
The scribe had the distinct honor of collaborating with him in writing texts for the edifying magazine "Parish Logos", which was a publication of the Holy Metropolitan Church of Evangelistria, but also to receive the generous Abrahamic hospitality of his family...
