Kostis Palamas, one of our two national poets, once wrote that "The greatness of the nations is not measured by the acre, the fire of the heart is also measured by the blood". This blood, with three thousand years of tradition and history, is the nation of the Greeks. A nation that created art, philosophized, religion, expanded and then fought, enslaved and uprooted. We are a people that constantly fights but also resists, that is threatened but also endures, that is disappointed but hopes. However, in recent decades we have been living in a peaceful and prosperous state, without the wars and poverty experienced by previous generations. Again, however, this treaty is not without its adversaries. We live with - not to say nurture - an internal, an insidious enemy: the population shrinkage of our country. Demography is, without a doubt, the most critical, existential problem that threatens Greece today. Of course, this is not a new issue or a temporary difficulty.
