I.N. Prophet Ilios Pylaia completes 100 years of life – Today the Vigil and the rare Procession of the Spreading of the Holy Tabletranslated

One hundred years since its foundation (1926–2026) the Holy Church of Prophet Ilios of Pylaia completes in 2026, marking a century of uninterrupted liturgical, pastoral and social presence in the local Church and society of Pylaia.

As part of the anniversary events for the completion of the centenary of the Holy Church, on Monday July 27, 2026 at 20:30 a Holy Vigil will be held, presided over by His Holiness Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Mr. Philotheos.

During the Holy Vigil, the rare Service of the Spreading of the Holy Table will be held, a high-priestly ritual of liturgical restoration of the spread of the Holy Table.

This particular sacred sequence is held rarely and lends special spiritual and historical weight to this year's celebration, as it is connected to the beginning of a new period in the history of the Holy Temple, which enters the second century of its life and ministry.
