On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the eve of the Feast of the Most Holy Theotokos of Pantanassi, the Solemn Vespers was celebrated with special joy and spiritual joy at the Vatopedino Metochi of Agios Nikolaos, on Lake Vistonida, in Porto Lagos.

The solemn High Priestly Vespers was presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Xanthi and Peritherio Mr. Panteleimon, flanked by the Professor of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, Elder Ephraim, Vatopedi fathers, as well as priests from various Holy Metropolises.

From early on, a multitude of believers from the wider region of Thrace, from Macedonia, Cyprus, Romania, flooded the grounds of Metochion, coming with reverence to honor Our Lady of Pantanassa and to ask for Her intercession, protection and maternal grace.

The presence of representatives of the Armed Forces and the Security Forces was also special. Among those present were the Commander of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos, as well as officers of the Army, the Greek Police, the Coast Guard and the Fire Brigade...
