His Beatitude Patriarch of Georgia Mr. Sio III celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Monastery of Panagia of Samtavros, on the occasion of the Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ, with the old calendar, yesterday August 19. The holiday was celebrated with great joy in Mtsheta, in the Samtavros Monastery, as the Catholic Church of the Holy Monastery is dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior.
After the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude addressed the concelebrating clergy, the nuns of the monastery and the faithful with a sermon, wishing for the Feast of the Transfiguration and talking about its importance.
"To all of us who came to the church, who came to God, the Lord gave us faith; he gave it to us as a gift. This gift was not given to us for our qualifications or for any work we have done, but rather he gave it to us because he saw in us the possibility of transformation, that as a result of this faith, through faith we would change our lives", said His Beatitude.
