Beginning of Evening Sermons of the Metropolitan of Etoloakarnaniatranslated

With the general theme "The Holy Gospel according to Mark" the new cycle of Vespers Sermons of the Venerable Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania Mr. Damascenes for the current church year 2026-2027 began.

The first meeting took place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Zoodochos Pigi Agrini, in the presence of Clergy and a multitude of believers from the city and the wider region, who participate with particular interest in these evening spiritual meetings.

Before the beginning of the sermon, His Holiness performed the Consecration Service, invoking the grace and illumination of the Holy Spirit for the new catechetical and missionary year.

During this first meeting, which had an introductory nature, Metropolitan Mr. Damascenes presented the face of Saint Mark the Evangelist, his life and apostolic ministry, as well as his relationship with the great personalities of the first Church, especially the Apostles Paul, Barnabas and Peter.
