Vespers of the Dormition of the Virgin in Messiniatranslated

In the presence of a large number of believers, the Great Solemn Vespers of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was celebrated on the afternoon of Friday, August 14, 2026, in the celebrating Churches of the Holy Metropolis of Messinia. The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Messinia, Mr. Chrysostomos presided over the Solemn Vespers and then at the Mass of the Epitaph of the Virgin Mary in the Holy Dormition Church of the Kalamata Cemetery, flanked by Archim. Alexios Aronis and clergy of the city of Kalamata. After the end of the Mass, His Eminence led the Holy Litany of the Epitaph inside the Cemetery accompanied by the Deputy Regional Governors Mr. Anastasiou Adamopoulos and Andreas Tsoukalas, the Deputy Mayors of Kalamata Mr. Sarandos Marinakis and Georgios Favvas.

In the Holy Monastery of Vulkanou, the precentor of the Vespers service was the Protosygellos of the Holy Metropolis of Messinia Archim. Philipps Hamargias, who was flanked by the Professor of the Holy Monastery of Vulkanou Prokopios and the brothers of the Holy Monastery, Archimandrites Euthymios Theodoropoulos and Alexios Sarantopoulos.
