The Venerable Metropolitan of Maroneia and Komotini, Mr. Panteleimon, led today, Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the memorial prayer for the repose of the benefactor of Komotini, the late Nestor Tsanaklis. The prayer was performed in the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Komotini, in the presence of the city authorities, as well as representatives of the cultural associations of the area of ​​the Byzantine Fortress and the district of Rembi Komotini. In his speech, the Metropolitan referred to the work and benefits of this great man, both to the city of Komotini and the Tsanaklio School and to all the cities in which he lived and was active, even in the land of Egypt.

He emphasized, in fact, that the minimum tribute to this great benefactor is not to forget him, like all those who offered to the city, bequeathing to our children their example, so that they can follow a similar path. In this way, His Holiness added, we can go through our lives performing miraculous works.
