Fthiotidos Simeon: "Transformation through prayer and obedience"translated

The Great Solemn High Priestly Vespers of the Despotic Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior was celebrated in the Holy Dormition Monastery of Agathonos. The Historic and Holy Monastery of Saint Vissarion of Agathonitos, annually celebrates the Finding of the Miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary by Saint Agathon, the Founder of the Monastery. The Solemn High Priestly Vespers was officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan Fthiotidos Mr. Simeon, flanked by the Holy Professor of the Monastery Archim. Father Germanos Yantsidis, the Fathers of the Brotherhood, as well as clergy of Western Fthiotido and the city of Lamia, officials and representatives of institutional bodies and security forces, while at an unabated pace until late in the evening, a large number of pilgrims arrived at the historic Monastery.

According to custom, the Great Solemn Vespers was held in the outer courtyard of the Monastery, while it was broadcast directly by the Radio Station of the Holy Metropolis of Fthiotidos (89.4 Fm) and via the Internet.
