Dimitria's LD's culminated in Chalkidatranslated

In the annual commemoration of the Saint Great Martyr Demetrius of Myroblytos, the eponymous Metropolitan Holy Church of Chalkidos celebrated, with the presence of the miraculous holy icon of the Virgin Mary "Eikosifonissa", from the Holy Monastery of the same name of the Holy Metropolis of Drama. On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the solemn Vespers was officiated by the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos, Mr. Nikodimos, who also preached the divine word to the gathered and flocking pilgrims, who were not deterred by the heavy rain.

In his sermon, the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos, Mr. Nikodimos, outlined the unchanging steadfastness of Saint Demetrius in faith and explained how every believer must not diminish his testimony, remain faithful to his roots, which means faithful to Christ, which presupposes self-knowledge. Finally, he urged us all to kneel before the icon of Our Lady of Ikosifonissa and Saint Demetrius, because whoever kneels before the icons of Christ, Our Lady and our saints, can stand before anything else.
