Over a million euros for the person, philanthropic work of the Metropolis of Kitrospreložené

With steadily increasing resources, the Holy Metropolis of Kitros, Katerini, and Platanos is daily beside those in need, under the guidance of the Most Reverend Metropolitan K. George and with the support of the community of Pieria. One million two hundred and fifteen thousand two hundred and ten euros (1.215.210,60 €) were allocated in the previous year 2025, for the support of the philanthropic work of the Holy Metropolis, thus practically confirming the continuous presence of the local Church among those who are tested by economic and social difficulties.

These funds were spent on the operation of the Ecclesiastical Philanthropic Institutions:

a) of the Daily Meals "The Eucharistic Bread",

b) of the Ecclesiastical Old People's Home

c) of the Social General Store, the Ecclesiastical Guesthouse (Program of Hospitality for Youth),

d) of the General Philanthropic Fund,

e) of the Individual annexes.

Philanthropy, however, does not concern only the covering of biological or material needs, but extends to a broader support of human needs and on a spiritual level. Thus, significant amounts were also allocated for the activities:
