Over a million euros for the person, the philanthropic work of the Metropolis of Kitroutranslated

With steadily increasing resources, the Holy Metropolis of Kitrou, Katerini, and Plataiai is daily beside those in need, under the guidance of the Very Reverend Metropolitan George and the support of the Pieria community. One hundred twenty-one thousand two hundred ten euros (1,215,210.60 €) was allocated in the previous year 2025, to support the philanthropic work of the Holy Metropolis, thereby practically confirming the continuous presence of the local Church among those who are tested by economic and social difficulties.

These funds were spent on the operations of the Ecclesiastical Philanthropic Institutions:

a) of the Daily Meals "The Bread of Life",

b) of the Ecclesiastical Geriatric Home,

c) of the Social Supermarket, the Ecclesiastical Guesthouse (Program of Hospitality for Youth),

d) of the General Philanthropic Fund,

e) of the Individual Addenda.

However, philanthropy does not concern only the covering of biological or material needs, but extends to a broader support of human needs and on a spiritual level. Thus, significant amounts were allocated for the activities:
