The feast of Ossia Makrina in Florinatranslated

On July 19, 2026, Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 4th Ecumenical Synod and feast day of Saint Makrina, the Orthodox Missionary Brotherhood of Saint Makrina Florina celebrated its patron saint. In the morning, the Orthros and the High Priestly Divine Liturgy were celebrated, officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Floris, Prespa and Eordaia, Mr. Irenaios.

The Elder Metropolitan Mr. Theoklitos was present praying, while the Deputy Regional Governor P.E. Florina, Mr. Athanasios Taskas, the Mayor of Florina, Mr. Vasilios Giannakis, the President of the Municipal Council of Florina, Mr. Dimitrios Theofanidis and a large number of believers, who came to participate in the solemn Eucharistic celebration.

During his sermon, His Holiness focused on the evangelical saying "whatever he does and teaches, this one is called great", referring to the Holy Fathers of the Church, who with their teachings and struggles preserved the Orthodox faith unadulterated and handed it on to the next generations.
