High priest's Vespers and inauguration of a small Repository in the Paleokastro Monastery of Mykonostranslated

The Venerable Metropolitan of Syros Mr. Dorotheos II presided tonight at the solemn Vespers at the Cemetery Church of Agios Mamados, of the Holy Monastery of Palaiokastro, in Ano Mera Mykonos, in the presence of the Member of Parliament Ms. Ekaterinis Monogyiou, the President of the Brotherhood of Anomerites of Mykonos and many believers.

After the end of the Service, His Eminence performed the inauguration of a small Reliquary in the Holy Monastery of Paleokastro, which was designed and edited by the High Priestly Commissioner of Ano Meras and Paleokastro, Protopr. Vasilios Tzanidakis, and in which objects of ecclesiastical and popular art are exhibited.

The Reverend Mr. Dorotheos II was addressed with complimentary words by the Protopr. Vasilios Tzanidakis.

In his brief homily, His Holiness congratulated Father Basilio for his initiative to collect and save sacred objects and utilitarian objects of past times, projecting the past into the present and extending it into the future, so that posterity can maintain their link with the traditions of their place.
