Access – "Greco-wine Culture": Wine as history, culture, tradition and spiritual experiencetranslated

On the occasion of the new edition of the book "Greek Wine Culture", we talk to the oenologist and author Dr. Dimitris Hatzinikolaou about the centuries-old relationship of the Greek people with the vine and wine. From ancient banquets, mythology and Dionysus, to the journey of Greek wine through the ages and the modern wine tradition, the discussion highlights wine as a carrier of memory and culture, but also as an element of Greek hospitality, companionship and the table.
A special place in the discussion is the transition from the ancient cultural tradition to the Christian experience and the unique importance of wine in the Holy Eucharist, where the fruit of the vine is offered as the Holy Blood of Christ. A discussion about wine that eventually becomes a discussion about people, history, tradition, faith and the value of society around a table.
