Glorious litany of the Four Holy New Martyrs and Panagia Sumela in Rethymnontranslated

On Wednesday, October 28, in the evening, in the celebratory Church of the Holy Four New Martyrs in Rethymnon, a solemn Vespers service was held by the Venerable Metropolitan of Petra, Mr. Gerasimos. The Most Reverend Metropolitans of Veria, Mr. Panteleimon, Mr. Ioakeim of Lampi and Sfakion, Mr. Theophilos Bishop of Amoriu, Mr. Nikiforos, Professor of the Stavropigian Holy Monastery of Vlatadon, and the local Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Mr. Prodromos, participated in prayer.

After Vespers, there followed a pandemic Holy Litany of the holy bodies of the celebrated Saints, the holy relics of Saint Demetrius the Myroblytis and the holy icon of Panagia Sumela.

At the end of the litany, the Pastor, during his homily, thanked the high priests and the clergy for their participation and especially the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Veria, Mr. Panteleimons, for the extraordinary blessing he reserved for the residents of Rethymno to cut the holy icon of Panagia Sumela and fragments of the holy relics of the Great Martyr Saint Dimitriou, in order to celebrate together with the Four New Martyrs.
