Historical exchange between Greece and Bulgaria: In Sofia, the bones of Tsar Samuel, in Athens, precious ecclesiastical relicstranslated

A diplomatic and cultural exchange between Greece and Bulgaria, which has been ongoing for years, is coming to an end, according to information from "K". Greece will hand over to Bulgaria the bones of Tsar Samuel in Sofia that were discovered in 1965 by Professor Nikolaos Moutsopoulos in the Basilica of Saint Achilleus in Prespa and are kept in the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki.

In turn, Bulgaria will return to Greece valuable ecclesiastical relics that were taken from the holy monasteries of Panagia Eikosifonissa on Mount Pangaio and of the Holy Forerunner in Serres during the First World War.

It is noted that the discussions between the two countries have been taking place in the background for more than 10 years.
