Trisagio in memory of the blessed Metropolitan of Nubia Mr. Anthimos at Pyrgos Kyeritranslated

Trisay for the repose of the soul of the blessed Metropolitan of Nubia, Mr. Anthimos (Sisco), was celebrated today, Thursday, September 3, 2026, in the morning, by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos and Phanariofersalon, Mr. Timotheus, at the Holy Church of Agios Georgios Pyrgos Kyeri, where the tomb of the late Hierarch is located. Today's prayer at the place where he rests, in the Holy Church of Agios Georgios Pyrgos Kierios, was a modest tribute to his memory and an opportunity to highlight anew the important ecclesiastical and theological path of a Hierarch who draws his origin from the area of Karditsa.
Metropolitan of Nubia Mr. Anthimos (1890-1958) Anthimos Siskos was born in Pyrgos Karditsis in 1890. He graduated from the Theological School of Athens in 1922 and on December 4, 1924 he was ordained an Elder by Metropolitan Trikkis Polykarpos, receiving the office of Archimandrite.
During the first years of his priestly ministry he served as the Director of the Ecclesiastical School of Lamia (1924-1927) and then as Vicar of the Greek Church of Budapest (1927-1930).
In 1930 he went to Alexandria, where he assumed the duties of Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod.
