European Heritage Days 2026 "Heritage at risk - revival, resilience, reflection"translated

For the 30th consecutive year, the Ministry of Culture celebrates and actively participates in the institution of European Cultural Heritage Days (EHCD), from 25 to 27 September 2026. For this year, the common European theme of the celebration is: "Heritage at Risk - Revive, Resist, Reimagine" (European Heritage Days 2026, Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine).

The theme seeks to raise public awareness of the various risks that threaten our natural and cultural heritage, which faces intense environmental, social and technological pressures in a rapidly changing world. At the same time, it offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the preservation of our tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

The planned actions of various agencies across the country shed light, among other things, on the challenges faced by monuments from natural deterioration, the effects of climate change and constantly changing environmental conditions, while at the same time demonstrating their resilience and timeless value, as well as the ways to save and protect them.
